SWTOR : Bioware is the worst in communication part II

Today Bioware implemented update 2.9 called Galactic Stronghold Early Access.

Ya only the subscriber have access to it, the others will wait some weeks and maybe more, but this is not the point of my post.

This update took 5 hours, and for all update, each time there is this : swtor-maint

Yes you see well !! It’s the 1st mmo I play that do that each time.

You can’t access the main website, the forum while the update is in process and the servers are down. Don’t you think it’s unrealistic, completely crazy ?

😮 It’s an impressive lack of community management. Players, when they can’t play the game want to chat about it, but Bioware don’t care.

Worse it means that all account infos, games and main website (they are the same) may be stored on the same servers !!

I could add also that I’m living in the euros zone area and when I pay my subscription in euros, I have bank fees simply because the bank of Bioware is not in the euros zone but in Switzerland ! Couldn’t they take a bank in Luxembourg if they wanted to have fiscal advantages ….

I’m really disappointed lately and I don’t tell you all the bug reports that are filling the customer service area of the forum as it’s often the case lately in all games.

When will all those companies start to listen more their players ? Maybe if players would stop paying to buy cosmetics, ridiculous stuffs, items, gears, etc … but it will always be the same.

But Bioware is really at the peak of the bad management of a franchise that could be really much better.

Have fun and play 🙂

SWTOR : Bioware is the worst in communication

I have already wrote complain about Bioware, but this is insane and for me getting worse.

It show how they care about the community and their customers. (following some infos there is 1 million active players and it seems 500 000 subscribers).

Since several months I have nothing new to do in game, only replaying again and again operations to improve a few pieces of gears, meaning I don’t really played it for several months.

Then on the 22th of July they launched a one week event “Gree”, that occurs only twice a year.

You know what is ridiculous ? They don’t put any news on the swtor website, neither on twitter, and they added the news on their fb page 2 days after the event started, July 24th. Don’t you think for an event that happened only 2 times a year they could have made a lot more advertising no ?

I’ve never see a so bad community service ever.

And it has been worse. The week after they implemented another event Rakghoul plague. The previous one was in february or march. And this time no news nowhere on any communication support, nothing !

I discovered the event while searching an information on forum and I discovered it 2 days after it has started.

It’s like Bioware is making event but don’t care at all about the community.

Bioware is completely acting like hell. I’ve never seen nothing like this before. I play several other mmo’s and there is often news about events, about improvement, about patches, etc. The patches infos are only displayed in a dev area on the forum, that’s all.

I’m really close to cancelling my subscription, even if I like the gameplay, even if I like the story, but when there is no new content for more than 3 months, that they implement event without informing the community about, for me it means they don’t want me to play the game.

End of Part I

remember have fun and play 🙂

Star Trek Online : Borg Advance episode series

When cryptic launched season 9, they reworked the episode series “Borg Advance” implementing the participation of Admiral Tuvok played by Tim Russ.

Since season 8, cryptic understood that they need to implement in game, when it’s possible, the actors that made the Star Trek tv shows what we all liked.

So in season 8 they added Worf with the voice of Michael Dorn, they added Tasha Yar with Denise Crosby, and lately then Tim Russ playing back his role of Tuvok, now as Admiral.

I liked the way the 4 episodes of the series were before, but they made still a good work reworking them.

I’ve made some videos and I’ll let you judge. Each episode take around 15mn so the 4 have the length of a tv episode.

Episode 1 : Where Angels Fear to Tread

Episode 2 : A Gathering Darkness

Episode 3 : Assimilation

Episode 4 : Fluid Dynamics

Enjoy and remember, have fun and play 🙂

Defiance : I prefer the game :)

I’ve made already a post about Defiance with a video about my first steps in game.

The fact is, the more I play the game, the more I like it. It may sound repetitive as to improve your levels you need to play a lot of ingame world events, etc.

But I’ve always enjoyed storyline in most of the game I played, and I like the story very much in Defiance.

A few days ago I decided to have a look to the tv shows and to be honest I didn’t find it good at all. The base of the story is good but the way they turn it on I, personnaly, don’t find it awesome or interesting.

The tv shows takes place in the city of Defiance, new name of what was St Louis. The video game is in San Francisco and has opened recently in Sillicon Valley and it’s so much better.

Ok, for some time we had a lot of connection issue. The game became free to play so it brought in a lots of new players and the servers were not able to hold all that. Also, it seems devs are making some bad moves about pricing, items, gears, etc. But as I’m a new player with still a low level for me it’s not a big problem, but ya, I can understand the former and long timer players that are angry.

I’ll post 2 videos today of some world event to show you the intensity of those fight :  arkfall, incursion, siege …

I try to play it as much as I can. I even made a clan with my guild and it’s fun to play in group (co-op map, competitive multiplayer arenas), to get bonus of experiences, cash, etc..,  as the clan level improve 🙂

Have fun and play 🙂
